So sad. Lee Thompson Young, who starred as the lead in the Disney Channel series ‘The Famous Jett Jackson’ died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, his rep confirms to HollywoodLife.com.
Lee Thompson Young’s body was discovered at his home in Los Angeles, officials said. The 29-year-old actor, who died on August 19, currently appears on TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles. However, when he failed to appear to work this morning, co-workers called Lee’s landlord to check up on him.

Sadly, when the landlord opened the door, Lee’s body was found, TMZ claims. Police responded at approximately 9:45 A.M on Aug. 19.
“It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning,” Lee’s longtime manager Jonathan Baruch told HollywoodLife.com. “Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends as this very difficult time.”

He most recently starred as detective Barry Ross, partner of Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon), on Rizzoli & Isles.
